Rijk Zwaan is an independent, family-owned seed breeding company, which has grown to become one of the top four vegetable seed suppliers in the world. Originating in The Netherlands in 1924 by Mr Rijk Zwaan, today it operates in over 100 countries worldwide.

As a wholly owned subsidiary, Rijk Zwaan Australia was founded in Daylesford, Victoria in 1987. We undertake counter-season seed production and Research and Development (R&D) activities at our two Victorian sites, Daylesford and Bacchus Marsh, and subtropical R&D activities in Gatton, Queensland.

With a strong company culture and a ‘people first’ approach, we employ approximately 80 staff throughout Australia, working across seed production, R&D and sales. Our dedicated team works hard towards producing and ensuring the continued supply of high quality and innovative vegetable seeds for our customers.
