Description

PAXTON RZ F1 (26-229) is a white cauliflower variety. It features a heavy, bright-white curd with excellent density.

Growing Paxton RZ
Paxton RZ is suited to summer and early autumn harvest. It reaches maturity around 70-80 days during summer and 80-90 days during Autumn. The plant has medium vigour.

This is a dual-purpose variety, well suited to the whole-head, fresh market, it's very dense, bright white curd make it ideal for Australian consumers.

Paxton also has potential for processing. Paxton is easy to work with when floretting during processing, has a low waste percentage

Paxton can be grown in all areas, and is especially suited to areas with clubroot pressure.

High resistance against Clubroot
Paxton RZ is the first Rijk Zwaan Pb Defense variety; a cauliflower with high resistance (HR) against clubroot races Pb:0, Pb:1 and Pb:3.

Paxton RZ is a great choice in production regions with clubroot pressure, especially those growers who do not want to fumigate their crop.

About clubroot
Clubroot (Plasmodiophora brassicae), which particularly affects brassica crops, has been around for decades. It occurs on all continents and currently affects 10% of the total production area. The disease is difficult to tackle, so once the pathogen is in the soil, it poses a big problem for growers, according to Michael Kreitz, Crop Coordinator Cauliflower. “Severe cases can cause a total loss of crops, so a cauliflower variety with clubroot resistance is a very welcome development”.
