Karillo RZ is a promising new kale variety, with some unique aspects – offering great potential for this market segment.

This is green-leaved kale has a pleasing, soft curl. Importantly, the leaves and stems are more tender than many other varieties.

Karillo is vigorous, as a shorter plant, it develops soft leaves up to 35cm long that are harvestable at a young age. This feature means that production can be faster, from 45 to 75 growing days.

Karillo is suited to open-field cultivation and possibly hydroponic production.

With excellent re-growth capacity, Karillo can be harvested a second or third time. Mechanical harvesting could be a possibility due to the lower growth point.

Karillo RZ is suitable for summer and autumn harvests in southern states and summer to winter production in northern states.
