Meditation RZ is a Batavia lettuce. Batavia is a traditional type of lettuce that is especially popular in French cuisine - offering a sweet, crispy leaf with an attractive coral-frilled edge. Meditation is non-heading and has a vibrant, dark green leaf with an excellent form for the burger and food service sector.
This is an innovative direction for fresh lettuce; Meditation RZ has been target bred for the home consumer and hospitality sector, it is specifically designed for burgers and sandwiches.
Meditation RZ is suited to whole leaf or food service products, it benefits from the Rijk Zwaan’s Knox™ trait, so has a good shelf life. Knox delays the pinking of cut leaf surfaces, offering a more attractive processed product. This means a longer shelf life, less food waste, and more profit along the chain.
It performs well in both hydroponic and field production.
